The mission of the Pittsylvania County Community Action is to provide opportunities for individuals and families to overcome barriers, gain self-sufficiency, and improve quality of life by:

• establishing a strategic fund development infrastructure to build a sustainable and financially viable agency
• building leadership capacity to adapt to the complex environment that surrounds the issue of poverty
• increasing awareness of the agency, build its reputation, brand, and identity as advocates and champions for poverty related issues, and educate and engage statkeholders
• investing in agency infrastructure
• refining and focus agency programs and activities to build and leverage strong community partnerships, to maximize impact

And through these efforts improving the quality of life in communities throughout our service area.

Moratorium on Evictions extended through June 30, 2021

"On March 28, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) extended its temporary halt, or moratorium, on residential evictions through June 30, 2021. The original moratorium, which was due to expire on March 31, 2021, protects individual renters earning less than $99,000 per year, as well as couples earning less than $198,000."
